Explanation of pub variation: The pub on the north west corner was called The Royal Oak for many years. When new owners bought the pub in 2019 they refreshed it & renamed it ‘The Brook’ to disconnect it from its turbulent history. It’s a really lovely independent local now and proving to be popular in the neighbourhood. The Brook version does say “formerly The Royal Oak” underneath the illustration so there is still a reference to it it’s original roots.
